We are conditioned to perceive our physical and psychological symptoms as the enemy that we have to fight with medication, surgery, vaccines or even natural remedies. We respond from resistance, rejection and fear, in other words, from victim’s consciousness. But there is another, more holistic and more fertile way to relate to our bodies – and Life itself: with trust, openness and curiosity.

Our symptoms are here to make us whole, allowing us to integrate those aspects, energies and archetypes that we currently exclude from our consciousness because we judge them as “bad”. That which we deny ourselves to live OR that which we live but deny to acknowledge is that which will show up in the body as symptoms. That which the symptoms forces us to do OR that which it prevents us from doing shows us the way.

So ultimately our symptoms help us be who we are in our most profound depth. They are our friend, not our enemy. Looking at our symptoms this way does not mean that we have to deny our emotional reality. It is about developing our capacity to trust what IS so deeply, both Life / our body AND what we feel, to an extent that we can stop fighting the symptom as “the enemy”, even AS we move through the intense reality of our emotions, incl. anger, desperation and fear.
